Ingredients list for Singhada aur Hare Matar ki Subzi

  • 20 Water Chestnuts peeled
  • 1/2 cup Green Peas blanched
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Dried mango powder (amchur)
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • to taste Salt
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped

Method

  1. Quarter the water chestnuts.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and asafoetida and sauté till fragrant.
  3. Add water chestnuts and mix well. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add red chilli powder, dried mango powder, coriander powder and salt and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add green peas, lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Transfer into a serving plate and serve hot.
