How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Cook time : 26-30 minutes

Ingredients for Soya Aapams Recipe

  • Rice 3 cup

  • Soya bean 1 cup

  • Green chillies chopped 4

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Onions chopped 2

  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Soak the rice and soyabeans overnight. Drain and grind it to a fine batter. Allow the batter to ferment for 3-4 hours.

Step 2

Add the chopped green chillies, cumin powder, chopped onions, chopped coriander leaves and salt to the batter. Mix well. Heat a kadhai and grease it.

Step 3

Pour a spoonful of batter in the middle of the kadhai and spread evenly gently rotating the kadai. Pour a tsp. of oil along the edges and cook for a minute. Serve hot.
