Ingredients
- 3 bunches spinach
- 3 medium potatoes
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- White pepper powder to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups white sauce
- A pinch nutmeg powder
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 2 butter cubes
- 2 tablespoons cream
Method
- Clean the spinach, remove the stems and wash thoroughly. Blanch, drain and chop. Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic and sauté. Add spinach, salt, white pepper powder and stir.
- Line a baking dish with this. Boil potatoes with some salt. Peel and slice. Arrange some of these slices on top of the spinach layer in the baking dish. Sprinkle some salt and pepper powder. Season the white sauce with nutmeg powder.
- Pour this over the potato layer. Sprinkle cheese and bread crumbs over the white sauce. Put some butter cubes on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for 10 minutes. Dot with fresh cream and serve immediately.
