Steamed Broccoli With Three Seeds

Ingredients 

  • 1 medium broccoli, separated into florets
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds with skin
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds (charoli/chironji)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (til)
  • A few pak choy leaves 
  • 2 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoons red chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger 

Method

  1. Place pak choy leaves in a bamboo steamer. Heat 3-4 cups water in a deep non stick pan.
  2. Dry roast pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds till fragrant and transfer into a bowl.
  3. Place broccoli florets in a steamer, close the lid and place in boiling water. Cook till broccoli is soft.
  4. Heat oyster sauce in a non stick pan. Add chilli sauce and 3 tsps water and mix. Add ginger, mix well and cook for 2 minutes and remove from heat.
  5. Transfer broccoli florets onto a serving dish. Drizzle the prepared sauce on top and sprinkle the three seed mixture.
  6. Serve immediately.
