How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Cook time : 41-50 minutes

Ingredients for Strawberry Sweet Rice Recipe

  • Rice 14

  • Strawberries cooked 1 cup

  • Sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Cream cheese 2 tablespoons

  • Cream 1/2 cup

  • Eggs 2

  • Brown sugar 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Step 2

Chop ten strawberries roughly and put in the mixer jar. Add sugar, cream cheese and cream and puree Add eggs and blend again.

Step 3

Divide the rice between four ramekin moulds. Pour the strawberry mixture over. Sprinkle the brown sugar equally on top in each mould.

Step 4

Cover with the lid and place in a tray with a little water in it. Bake in the preheated oven for forty five minutes. Cut the remaining strawberries into fans.

Step 5

Place a strawberry fan over each ramekin and serve hot or cold.
