Ingredients for The Princess Cake - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida)

  • Salt 1/2 teaspoon

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 1 3/4 cups

  • Eggs 2 teaspoons

  • Yeast 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Milk 1/2 cup

  • Butter 1 1/2 tablespoons + for brushing

  • Cinnamon powder 2 teaspoons

  • Egg wash as required

  • Dark chocolate melted as required

  • Chocolate cake spong 1/2 kilogram

  • Buttercream coloured as required

  • Royal icing black coloured as required

  • Royal icing red coloured as required

Method

Step 1

Take refined flour in a bowl, add salt and 1 cup castor sugar and mix well. Make a well in the center, break in the eggs, add activated yeast and milk, mix well and knead into soft dough. Add butter and knead till well combined.

Step 2

Put ¾ cup castor sugar in another bowl, add cinnamon powder and mix well.

Step 3

Dust the worktop with flour, keep the dough on it and roll into a rectangular sheet. Brush butter on it evenly and sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture on it.

Step 4

Roll the sheet from one end to the other, apply a little water on the open edge and seal. Cut into 8 half-inch pieces and press them lightly.

Step 5

Place them on a greased baking tray and set aside to prove for 10-15 minutes.
