Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Prep Time : 6-10 minutes

Cook time : 16-20 minutes

Ingredients for Three Flavour Popcorn Recipe

  • Corn kernels dried 1 1/2 cups

  • Brown sugar 3/4 cup

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Cheese powder 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli flakes 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Tomato powder 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

For sweet popcorn mix one tablespoon oil, brown sugar and half cup corn kernels in a microwave bowl.

Step 2

Cover and cook on Microwave HIGH for six minutes, stirring once after three minutes.

Step 3

For making popcorn with cheese powder mix one tablespoon oil and half cup corn kernels in a microwave bowl.

Step 4

Cover and cook on Microwave HIGH for six minutes, stirring once after three minutes. Remove, add cheese powder and red chilli flakes and toss.

Step 5

For making popcorn with tomato powder mix one tablespoon oil and half cup corn kernels in a microwave bowl.

Step 6

Cover and cook on Microwave HIGH for six minutes, stirring once after three minutes.

Step 7

Remove, add tomato powder and salt to taste and toss.
