Ingredients 

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup butter for greasing
  • 1½ cups refined flour (maida)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1½ cups whipped cream

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180ºC. Grease a baking tray with butter.
  2. Sift refined flour and baking powder into a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar in another bowl till fluffy. Break eggs and add. Add vanilla essence and beat till well combined.
  4. Add the flour mixture and mix well.
  5. Pour the prepared batter onto the baking tray. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for thirty to thirty five minutes. Prick the cake with a fork and cool down to room temperature.
  6. Put milk in the third bowl, add condensed milk and mix well. Pour the milk mixture over the baked cake.
  7. Transfer the milk cake onto a serving plate, spread whipped cream evenly over it. Keep in the refrigerator for thirty minutes.
  8. Serve chilled.
