Ingredients list for Turai Ke Pakode

  • 2 Ridge gourd (turai)
  • for deep-frying Oil 2-3 tablespoons +
  • 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to sprinkle Chaat masala

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Cut ridge gourd into roundels.
  3. Combine gram flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and 3 tablespoons warm oil along with some water to make a smooth batter.
  4. Put ridge gourd roundels into the prepared batter and mix well.
  5. Deep-fry each roundel into hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain in absorbent paper.
  6. Sprinkle some chaat masala on the pakodas and serve hot.
