Ingredients 

  • 1 cup split skinless black gram cooked with salt and turmeric powder till just done
  • 1 cup shelled green peas
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 3 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 1/2 inch ginger piece, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 lemon
  • A few sprigs of fresh coriander leaves
  • 3 tablespoons scraped fresh coconut

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add cumin seeds and let them brown. Add onions, green chillies and ginger and saute till fragrant.
  2. Add black gram and green peas and mix. Add salt, red chilli powder, juice of ½ lemon. Chop coriander leaves and add and mix well. Add coconut and mix. Serve hot.
