How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Ingredients for Wheat Lentil Dosa Recipe

  • Rice Flour 1/2 cup

  • Soya Flour 1/4 cup

  • Millet flour (bajre ka atta) 1/4 cup

  • Buttermilk as required

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Oil to shallow fry

  • Tomato ketchup as required

Method

Step 1

Mix together the rice, soya and millet flour with the buttermilk to make a smooth batter.

Step 2

Add the salt, chopped coriander and green chillies, and mix well. Let the batter rest for about fifteen minutes.

Step 3

Heat a thick non-stick tawa or frying pan.

Step 4

Add two drops of oil and wipe the tawa clean with a piece of wet muslin.

Step 5

Add a tablespoon of oil to the tawa; pour half a ladleful of batter and spread it to a thin three-inch round. Drizzle a little oil all around.

Step 6

When the underside is cooked, flip the dosa and fry the other side.

Step 7

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
