Ingredients for Apple Goduma Payasam Recipe

  • Apple 1

  • Broken wheat (dalia/lapsi) 1/2 cup

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Ghee 3 tablespoons

  • Milk 2 cups

  • Cashewnuts halved 8-10

  • Raisins 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh mint leaves 3-4

Method

Step 1

Mix milk and sugar in a non-stick pan. Add cardamom powder and boil.

Step 2

Heat 1½ tbsps ghee in another non-stick pan, add dalia and sauté on a medium heat till light brown.

Step 3

When the milk starts boiling, add the sautéed dalia and mix well. Cook till payasam thickens.

Step 4

Peel and chop apple and add to the payasam and cook.Heat remaining ghee in a small non-stick pan.

Step 5

Add cashewnuts and raisins and sauté.Add them to the payasam and mix well.

Step 6

Cook for 2-3 minutes. When it cools down to room temperature, chill it in the refrigerator.

Step 7

Garnish with a few slices of apple and mint leaves and serve.
