By Sanjeev Kapoor 01 Sep 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Mackerels, Tirfal Cuisine Goan Course Main Course Seafood Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Bangda Amshe Tikshe Mackerels (Bangda) cut into 4 pieces each 8-10 Tirfal 3 tablespoons Coconut oil 12-16 Garlic cloves crushed 8-10 Dried red chillies (bedgi) broken 1 cup Fresh coconut scraped 1 1/2 tablespoons Tamarind paste Method Grind the tirfal with ¼ cup water and strain into a bowl. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, add 6-8 crushed garlic cloves and sauté till golden. Add dried red chillies, coconut and mix well. Transfer into a mixer jar, add tamarind paste and little water and grind into a coarse mixture. Heat the remaining oil in a non-stick handi. Add the remaining crushed garlic cloves and sauté till golden. Add a little water to the ground mixture and put into the handi. Add 1-1½ cups water and the tirfal water. Add salt, bangda and mix well. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
