Italian cuisine has developed through centuries of social and political changes, with roots stretching to antiquity.  Italian cuisine is simple and a number of dishes having only four to eight ingredients.  They rely mostly on the quality of ingredients rather than elaborate preparation.
Noteworthy changes in Italian cuisine happened with the discovery of the New World and the introduction of potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers and maize, which are now an integral part of this cuisine.  Italian cuisine is known for its regional diversity each with a distinct taste.  This cuisine today is probably one of the most popular in the world.

Ingredients for Cassata-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Strawberry ice cream 1 cup

  • Butterscotch ice cream 1 cup

  • Vanilla ice cream 1 cup

  • Chocolate sponge cake sliced horizontally into 2 1x6 inch

  • Almonds chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Pistachios chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Cashewnuts chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Dark chocolate chips 2 tablespoons


Step 1

Keep one slice of chocolate sponge cake in a silicon loaf mould. Top with a layer of strawberry ice cream and freeze for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

Top with a layer of butterscotch ice cream and freeze for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3

Fill a piping bag fitted with a nozzle with vanilla ice cream and pipe on top of the butterscotch layer.

Step 4

Mix together almonds, pistachios, cashewnuts and chocolate chips in a bowl. Sprinkle this mixture on top of the ice cream. Freeze till set.

Step 5

Demould, cut into pieces and serve immediately.
