Ever wondered why the phrase “say cheese” is used just before a photograph is clicked? Simply because ‘cheese’ makes one smile! Not only the word but cheese as a food makes a lot of palates happy. It is an inexpensive, versatile and nourishing food. We have our very own Indian version as well as the ones made from soy milk that are even healthier. Whichever form, this is one food that is loved by one and all!

Ingredients for Cheesy Jalapeno Garlic Bread - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Mozzarella cheese grated 1/2 cup

  • Fresh jalapenos sliced 2

  • Garlic bread 1

  • Garlic finely chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Butter as required

  • Fresh parsley finely chopped 1 1/2 tabl to sprinkle

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon to sprinkle

  • Cream cheese 3/4 cup

  • Fresh jalapenos finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180º C.

Step 2

Halve garlic bread horizontally and place on a baking tray. Spread some butter on each halve and top with 1 tablespoon garlic and ½ tablespoon parsley.

Step 3

Sprinkle some chilli flakes, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 4-5 minutes.

Step 4

Mix together cream cheese, remaining parsley, chopped jalapenos and ½ teaspoon chilli flakes in a bowl. Add remaining chilli flakes, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.

Step 5

Spread cream cheese mixture on baked garlic bread halves. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, chilli flakes and parsley. Top with jalapeno slices.

Step 6

Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake till the cheese melts.

Step 7

Cut into strips and serve immediately.
