Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate sauce + for serving
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
  • ½ cup oats powder
  • ½ cup finger millet flour (nachni/ragi)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups milk 
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil + as required 
  • Butter as required
  • Honey for serving
  • Maple syrup for serving
  • Chocolate-hazelnut sauce for serving

Method

  1. Mix together wheat flour, oats flour and finger millet in a bowl. Break in eggs and whisk well. Add milk gradually and whisk well to make a semi-thick batter.
  2. Add baking powder and whisk. Add chocolate sauce and whisk. Add 2 teaspoons olive oil and whisk well. Set aside for 5 minutes. 
  3. To prepare one pancake, heat 1 teaspoon in a non-stick tawa. Pour a ladleful of batter and slightly swirl the pan to make a semi-thick disc and cook from both sides till golden brown. Transfer on a plate. 
  4. To prepare another pancake, pour a ladleful of batter, swirl the pan to make a semi-thick disc, spread some butter around the edges and cook from both sides till golden brown, applying some butter. 
  5. Serve hot with honey, maple syrup, chocolate sauce or chocolate-hazelnut sauce.
