Ingredients list for Corn Halwa

  • 1 cup Corn kernels , boiled
  • 4 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1/4 cup + to garnish Mixed nuts , chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Semolina (suji/rawa)
  • 1 1/2 cups Khoyta (mawa)
  • a pinch Saffron strands
  • 1 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery , grated
  • 1 cup Milk

Method

  1. Put corn kernels into a blender jar and blend into a fine paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add nuts and sauté till lightly browned and crisp. Add semolina, mix and sauté till fragrant.
  3. Add corn paste and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring continuously.
  4. Add khoya and mix till it melts. Add saffron strands and green cardamom powder and mix well.
  5. Add jaggery and mix till it melts. Add milk, mix and cook till the mixture thickens.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with nuts and serve hot.
