Ingredients list for Crispy Crunchy Baby Corn

  • 10-12 Baby corns , blanched
  • 1 1/4 teas to sprinkle Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black peppercorns , crushed
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespo to deep fry Oil
  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour
  • 1 pinch Baking soda
  • 1 cup Cornflakes
  • to sprinkle Chaat masala
  • to serve Green chutney

Method

  1. Take baby corns in a bowl, add 1 tsp red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, crushed black peppercorns, ginger-garlic paste and salt and mix well.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai
  3. Take refined flour, cornflour, baking soda, remaining red chilli powder and a pinch of salt in another bowl. Add ½ cup water and 1 tbsp oil and mix well to make a thick and smooth batter. Crush the cornflakes and add to the batter and mix well.
  4. Dip baby corns in this batter and slide into hot oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Sprinkle red chilli powder and chaat masala over them.
  6. Transfer into a serving basket and serve hot with green chutney.
