Ingredients list for Crispy Fried Yam

  • 1/2 kilogram Purple Yam
  • to deep fry Ghee
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice

Method

  1. Peel, wash and cut yam into half inch thick slices. Steam the yam slices for ten to fifteen minutes or till almost done. Cool and gently press each slice between your palms to flatten slightly.
  2. Heat sufficient ghee in a kadai and deep-fry on medium heat till golden and crisp. Drain onto an absorbent paper.
  3. Transfer onto a serving dish, sprinkle salt, white pepper powder, little lemon juice and serve hot.
