Cumin And Black Olive Hummus Traditional hummus with a tangy touch This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 21 Jun 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Cumin powder, Black olives Cuisine Lebanese Course Pickle Jams Chutneys Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 41-50 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Medium Others Veg Ingredients list for Cumin And Black Olive Hummus 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder roasted 2-3 Black olives chopped 2 cups Chickpeas (kabuli chana),boiled 1 teaspoon Garlic,chopped to taste Salt 1/3 cup Tahini 2 tablespoons Olive oil 2 tablespoons Lemon juice 2 Pita bread 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder Method Mix chickpeas, garlic and salt in a bowl. Put this mixture in a mixer jar and grind, stirring up the contents with a spoon in between. Add 2 tsps tahina and 1 tsp olive oil and continue to grind. Add the rest of tahina and a little olive oil and grind. Add a little water, roasted cumin powder, 1 tsp lemon juice and grind till smooth. Preheat oven to 180°C. Slit the pita breads and cut into strips and further cut into small triangles. Arrange the triangles on a baking tray and toast in the preheated oven till light brown and crisp. Transfer the hummus into a serving bowl. Make a well in the centre and drizzle the remaining olive oil into it. Garnish with black olives and sprinkle red chilli powder. Serve with the pita chips.
