By Sanjeev Kapoor 19 Jul 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Mutton, Ginger-garlic paste Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Mutton Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 41-50 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Dehati Mutton - SK Khazana 750 grams Mutton cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 1/4 cup Mustard oil 3 medium Onoins sliced 4-5 Green cardamom 2 Black cardamom 1 Cinnamon 2 Bay leaf 2-3 Dried red chilli 1 teaspoon Green chilli paste 3 teaspoons Coriander powder to taste Crushed black peppercorns 1 1/2 teaspoons Cumin powder 2 teaspoons Garam masala 1 cup Yogurt to serve Fresh coriander sprigs Steamed rice Method Take mutton pieces in a bowl, add ginger-garlic paste and turmeric powder and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Heat mustard oil in a pressure cooker till it smokes. Switch the heat off and let the oil cool slightly. Switch on the heat again, add onions, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add green cardamoms, black cardamoms, cinnamon stick and bay leaves. Break dried red chillies and add to the pan, mix and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add green chilli paste, mix well and saute for 1 minute. Add the mutton pieces, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes on high heat. Add coriander powder, crushed black peppercorns, cumin powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well. Add yogurt, mix well and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add sufficient water to completely cover the mutton, mix well and put the lid on the cooker. Cook under pressure for 6-8 whistles. Open the lid once the pressure has settled completely. Stir and cook for 5-10 minutes.
