By Sanjeev Kapoor 05 Apr 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Chicken, Kasuri Methi Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Chicken Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Dum Methi Murgh 750 grams Chicken cut into 2 inch pieces on the bone 2 teaspoons Kasuri Methi 2 tablespoons ghee 6-8 black peppercorns 3-4 Green cardamoms 1-2 cloves 1 star anise 1 inch cinnamon stick 1 black cardamom 3-4 green chillies slit 1 onion chopped 1 tablespoon Garlic Paste 1 tablespoon ginger paste 3/4 cup yogurt 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste 2 tablespoons Almond Paste Readymade dough for sealing Method Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add black peppercorns, green cardamoms, cloves, star anise, cinnamon stick, and black cardamom and sauté till fragrant. Add green chillies and sauté for a minute. Add onion, mix and sauté till translucent. Add garlic paste and ginger paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Take chicken in a bowl, add yogurt, turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Transfer this into the pan and sauté for 3-4 minutes on high heat. Reduce the heat, add almond paste and kasuri methi and mix well. Add ½ cup water and mix. Seal the rim of the pan with the dough and cover with a lid.
