By Sanjeev Kapoor 07 Jun 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Basa fillets, Scraped coconut Cuisine Bengali Course Main Course Seafood Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Fish Paturi 400 grams Basa fillets cut into 2 inch pieces ½ cup Scraped coconut 3 Banana leaves cut into 6 inch squares 1 tablespoons Mustard powder 2 tablespoons Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto) soaked 3 Green chillies 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander chopped 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 2 teaspoons Mustard oil Juice of 1 lemon Method Take the mustard powder in a bowl. Add six tablespoons water and set aside. In a blender, blend together coconut, poppy seeds, green chillies and coriander to a smooth paste. Mix the blended mixture with the mustard paste. Add turmeric, salt and mustard oil, mix well. In another bowl marinate the fish with salt and lemon juice. Add the marinade and mix well. Heat water for boiling in a steamer. Take a piece of banana leaf and place a piece of marinated fish on it. Cover it from all sides and tie it with a thread. Place these on a steamer tray and steam it for seven to eight minutes.
