Ingredients 

  • 1 teaspoon five spice Powder

Noodles

  • 200 grams noodles, boiled
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour/ corn starch
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 5-6 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 8-10 French beans, diagonally sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, sliced
  • 8-10 broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red chillies
  • 7-8 fresh button mushrooms, quartered
  • 1/2 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon MSG

Method

  1. Mix the cornflour with the orange juice.
  2. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok. Add the garlic and sauté for half a minute. Add the French beans, carrot and broccoli and stir-fry for two to three minutes.
  3. Add the onion, salt, soy sauce, half the crushed red chillies and five-spice powder, and continue to stir-fry for three to four minutes. Add the mushrooms, honey and MSG. Stir in the cornflour-orange juice mixture and cook till thick.
  4. Heat the remaining oil in a separate pan. Add the boiled noodles and stir-fry for two minutes. Transfer the noodles to a plate. Pour the sauce over and sprinkle the remaining crushed red chillies on top.
  5. Serve hot.
