French Onion Soup French onion soup is a classic and comforting dish that features caramelized onions simmered in a rich beef broth, topped with toasted bread and cheese. By Sanjeev Kapoor 19 Sep 2016 in Recipes Veg New Update French Onion Soup Main Ingredients Onions, Clarified butter Cuisine French Course Soups Prep Time 5-10 minutes Cook time 10-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 3 onions, sliced thinly 1 tablespoon clarified butter (ghee) 1 tablespoon butter + as required 5 cups brown stock Salt to taste Black pepper powder to taste 1 teaspoon mustard paste ¼ cup grated mozzarella cheese ¼ cup grated processed cheese 4 bread slices, cut into triangles and toasted Method Heat clarified butter and butter in a deep non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till well browned. Add brown stock, stir to mix and bring it to a boil. Add salt, pepper powder and mustard paste. Stir to mix and boil for 2-3 minutes. Add half the mozzarella and processed cheese, mix well and switch off heat. Pour soup into 4 individual soup bowls. Spread butter on toasted triangles and top with portion of both the remaining cheese.
