Ingredients list for Fresh Tacos
- 1 cup Maize flour (makai ka atta)
- ? cup + for dusting Refined flour (maida)
- to taste Salt
- a pinch Turmeric powder
- 1½ tablespoons Oil
- 4 tablespoons Refried beans
- 1 large Red capsicum cut into thin strips
- 1 large Green capsicum cut into thin strips
- ½ cup Purple cabbage shredded
- ¾ cup Chicken gilled, strips
- ½ cup Iceberg lettuce shredded
- to sprinkle Sour cream
Method
- Take maize flour in a bowl. Add refined flour, salt and turmeric powder and mix.
- Add sufficient warm water, mix and knead into semi-soft dough. Add oil, knead again and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into equal portions, dust each portion with refined flour, and roll out into medium sized chapattis. These are tacos.
- Heat a non-stick pan. Place the tacos on it and roast till golden from both sides.
- Place the roasted tacos on a serving platter. Place 1 tablespoon refried beans on one side. Top with red capsicum, green capsicum, cabbage, chicken strips and lettuce, bring the other half over and shape into a crescent.
- Drizzle some sour cream on top and serve immediately.
