Ingredients for Haldi aur Mirch ka Achar Recipe

  • Fresh Turmeric Pieces 200 grams

  • Bhavnagri Green Chillies 20-25

  • Vinegar 1 cup

  • Black peppercorns 1 tablespoons

  • Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon

  • Lemons 2

  • Salt 2-3 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Heat vinegar in non-stick pan, add black peppercorns and red chilli powder and let it come to a boil. Transfer the mixture into a bowl.

Step 2

Roughly chop fresh turmeric, slit green chillies and cut the lemons into 8 pieces each.

Step 3

Take a glass jar, place some turmeric pieces at the bottom. Place some green chillies over them and top with some lemon and salt. Repeat the layers.

Step 4

Pour the vinegar mixture on the top. Close the jar and set aside for 7 days.

Step 5

Serve as required.
