This term Continental cuisine refers to the food eaten in the European countries. Under the mantle of Continental food come the British, American, Italian, New Zealand, Armenian, Hungarian, Russian and many other European cuisines.
Continental cuisines use less chilllies and very little spices. Instead fresh herbs and dairy products form an important part of continental dishes.  The cooking methods are mostly stewing, grilling and roasting which make the food low in calories as they use very less fat. Continental food use mostly items high in proteins like milk, cheese, eggs and meats.

Ingredients for Herb Garlic Bread - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 cups

  • Fresh yeast 2 teaspoons

  • Castor sugar 2 teaspoons

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Fresh mixed herbs chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Butter 2 tablespo

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Milk for brushi

  • Garlic powder to sprinkle

  • Dried mixed herbs to sprinkle

Method

Step 1

Put yeast in a bowl, add castor sugar and 2 tablespoons warm water, mix well and set aside to activate.

Step 2

Sift flour in another bowl. Add garlic, fresh herbs and activated yeast and mix well.

Step 3

Add some water and knead well. Transfer the dough onto the worktop, add butter and knead to a soft dough. Transfer the dough into the same bowl, cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 20 minutes.

Step 4

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Step 5

Transfer the dough back onto the worktop, add oil and knead lightly. Shape into a loaf and keep it on a baking tray. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 20 minutes.

Step 6

Brush the dough with some milk and sprinkle garlic powder and dried herbs on top. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Step 7

Brush some butter on top and serve.
