Ingredients 

  • 1 1/2 cups cashewnuts, soaked for 2-3 hours
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 2 green chillies, slit
  • 1/4 cup blanched green peas 
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons goda masala
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves 
  • 1/2 cup scraped fresh coconut
  • Coriander sprig for garnish

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida and green chillies and sauté for 1 minute.
  2. Add green peas, cashewnuts, turmeric powder, salt, sugar, goda masala, coriander leaves and scraped coconut, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
