By Sanjeev Kapoor 26 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Advertisment Main Ingredients Purple yam (kand), Gram flour (besan) Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Kand ke Pakode 250 grams Purple yam (kand) peeled 1 1/2 teaspoons Gram flour (besan) 1 tablespoon Rice flour 1 pinch Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon Black peppercorns crushed 2 teaspoons Coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder to taste Salt 2 teaspoons Lemon juice 1 pinch Baking soda to deep fry Oil to sprinkle Chaat masala to serve Tomato ketchup Method Take gram flour in a bowl, add rice flour, asafoetida, red chilli powder, crushed black peppercorns, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, lemon juice and sufficient water, whisk well to make a semi-thick batter. Add baking soda and mix well. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Cut thin slices of purple yam. Dip each slice of purple yam slide into the hot oil. Deep- fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
