Ingredients for Karachi Biscuits Recipe

  • Margarine 1½ cups

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Powdered sugar 1 cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 cups + for dusting

  • Green cardamom powder ½ teaspoon

  • Almonds chopped 25 grams

  • Cashewnuts chopped 25 grams

  • Pistachios chopped grams

Method

Step 1

Take margarine in a bowl and whisk with an electric beater. Add vanilla essence and powdered sugar and whisk well.

Step 2

Add flour, cardamom powder, almonds, cashewnuts and pistachios and whisk well to make a dough. Wrap the dough in with cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Dust the worktop with some flour. Transfer the dough and roll into a thick log.

Step 4

Trim off the ends and wrap the log with cling film. Freeze for 15-20 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat oven to 180° C.

Step 6

Unwrap the dough log and cut into medium thick roundels, place them on a baking tray, place t the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.

Step 7

Serve or store in an airtight container.
