Ingredients list for Karara Dum Aloo

  • 3 medium Potatoes peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • as required Papad roasted and crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 50 grams Bhuna masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • For garnis as required Roasted peanuts
  • For garnis as required Tamarind chutney

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seed and when they splutter, add asafoetida and mix. Add potatoes and toss lightly. Add red chilli powder, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder and toss lightly.
  2. Add bhuna masala, sugar, salt and mix. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with roasted peanuts, tamarind chutney, crushed papad and serve immediately.
