Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Kasundi Tangdi Kebab Recipe

  • Chicken drumsticks 4-5

  • Kasundi mustard paste 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Lemon halved

  • Hung yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Mustard oil 2 tablespoons

  • Dried fenugreek leaves powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Small cubes of butter a few + to grease

  • Melted butter for basting

  • Salad to serve

  • Green chutney to serve

  • Lemon wedges to serve

Method

Step 1

Make incisions in the chicken drumsticks and place them in a bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder and squeeze the juice of ½ lemon and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

Take hung yogurt in another bowl, add kasundi mustard paste, ginger-garlic paste, mustard oil and dried fenugreek leaves powder and mix well.

Step 3

Add salt and squeeze the juice of the remaining ½ lemon and mix well. Add the chicken drumsticks and mix till all the chicken drumsticks are well coated. Set aside to marinate for 1-2 hours.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 200˚C.

Step 5

Grease a baking tray with butter and place the marinated chicken drumsticks on it. Place a few cubes of butter on top of each chicken drumstick. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, turning and basting with melted butter occasionally.

Step 6

Remove the chicken drumsticks from the oven, place them on a serving plate, brush them with melted butter and serve hot with salad, green chutney and lemon wedges.
