Ingredients list for Masala Hazelnuts

  • 1 1/2 cups Hazelnuts
  • 3/4 cup Gram flour
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • a pinch Baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • TO SERVE
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala

Method

  1. Place hazelnuts in a big bowl. Add gram flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, chaat masala, garam masala powder and baking powder and mix.
  2. Sprinkle one fourth cup of water so as to coat hazelnuts with the masala properly. Add two tablespoons of oil and mix again.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. When moderately hot drop a few hazelnuts at a time, taking care that they do not form lumps, and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp.
  4. Drain and place on an absorbent paper. Sprinkle chaat masala.
  5. Cool and serve or store in an airtight container.
