By Sanjeev Kapoor 12 Aug 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Split red lentil (masoor dal), Turmeric powder Cuisine Indian Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Masoor Dal with Tomato - SK Khazana 1 cup Split red lentil (masoor dal) soaked for 20 minutes 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 2 medium Tomatoes chopped 2 tablespoons Mustard oil 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 2-3 Dried red chillies Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon + for garnish Method Drain and put split red lentils into a pressure cooker, add 3 cups of water, salt, turmeric powder and tomato and let the mixture come to a boil. Cover the cooker with the lid and cook under pressure till 2 whistles are given out. Heat mustard oil in a deep non-stick pan till it begins to smoke. Add cumin seeds and once they change colour, add dried red chillies, mix and saute for 1 minute.
