Moong Dal Tikki A wholesome Indian snack made from soaked and ground yellow moong dal, pan-fried to crispy perfection, offering a healthy and flavorful treat. By Sanjeev Kapoor 18 Aug 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Moong dal Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 3.30-4 hour Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients 1¼ cups moong dal ¼ small cabbage, finely chopped ½ small capsicum, finely chopped 1-2 green chillies, chopped 2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander leaves ½ teaspoon dried mango powder (amchur) 1 teaspoon lemon juice Salt to taste ½ teaspoon red chilli powder ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder 1¼ cups fresh breadcrumbs Oil for deep frying Tomato ketchup to serve Method In a large bowl, add moong dal and wash it a few times with sufficient water. Soak it with water for 3-4 hours. Drain and coarsely crush ½ of the moong dal and reserve the remaining. Transfer the reserved moong dal and the crushed moong dal in another large bowl. Add cabbage, capsicum, green chillies and chopped coriander. Add amchur, lemon juice and salt. Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder and mix till well combined.Add fresh breadcrumbs and mix well. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai¸ meanwhile for making the tikkis, take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Slightly flatten and set aside.
