Ingredients list for Moong Sprouts Brown Rice
- 1/2 cup Moong sprouts
- 1/2 cup Brown Basmati rice soaked in water for 3-4 hours
- 2 tablespoons Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) soaked
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- 3 medium Onions roughly chopped
- 4 Green chillies
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 7-8 Cloves
- 2 Bay leaves
- 2 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 5-6 Cauliflower florets
- 5-6 French beans chopped
- 2 medium Carrots
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup Shelled green peas
Method
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Chop onions and green chillies in a chopper. Put cumin seeds, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon in the cooker and sauté till fragrant.
- Add onion-green chilli mixture and continue to sauté. Add cauliflower, French beans and moong dal and mix. Cut carrots into cubes and add.
- Add 3½ cups water and mix. Add drained brown rice, salt, garam masala powder and sprouted moong and mix. Let the mixture come to a boil. Add green peas and mix. Put the lid on the pressure cooker and cook under pressure till 3-4 whistles are given out.
- Open the lid when the pressure reduces completely and serve hot with yogurt or pickles and papads.
