Mushroom and Basil Pasta The combination of mushrooms and basil makes this pasta ever so tasty. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 17 Aug 2015 in Recipes Course New Update " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> Main Ingredients Penne pasta, Button mushrooms Cuisine Italian Course Noodles and Pastas Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Mushroom and Basil Pasta 8 Penne pasta sliced 2 cups Button mushrooms boiled 7-8 Fresh basil leaves torn 3 tablespoons Butter 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped 1 1/2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida) 1 1/2 cups Milk 1/4 teaspoon Black peppercorns crushed 1 teaspoon Dried mixed herbs to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Processed cheese grated 2 1/2 teaspoons Fresh parsley chopped Method Heat two tablespoons butter in a non-stick pan, add garlic and sauté till light brown. Add mushrooms, mix and sauté on high heat for one to two minutes. Add refined flour, mix well and sauté. Add remaining butter, mix well and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add milk and cook till thick, stirring continuously, to avoid lumps. Add crushed peppercorns, mixed herbs and salt and mix well. Add one tablespoon grated cheese and mix well. Add one teaspoon parsley, basil leaves and mix well. Add penne paste and mix well and cook till it gets heated through. Switch off the heat. Add one teaspoon parsley and mix well. Serve hot garnished with the remaining grated cheese and remaining parsley.
