Ingredients list for Neer More

  • 2 cups Yogurt whisked
  • 8-10 Curry leaves chopped
  • 1 inch piece Ginger seeded and chopped finely
  • 1 Green chilli chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Crushed ice
  • 4 for garnishing Fresh red chillies
  • 4 for garnishing Fresh mint sprigs

Method

  1. Lightly pound green chilli, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves, cumin powder, asafoetida, lemon juice and salt in a mortar with a pestle.
  2. Take the yogurt in a bowl. Add one and a quarter cups of water and whisk till smooth. Add the pounded mixture to the yogurt and mix well.
  3. Add crushed ice to chill. Strain and serve in a tall stemmed glasses, garnished with a red chilli and mint sprig on each glass.
