Ingredients list for Onion And Capsicum Uttappam

  • 2 cups Rice soaked
  • 1 cup Split Black Gram soaked
  • to taste Salt
  • FOR TOPPING
  • 2 medium Onions finely chopped
  • 2 medium Green capsicums seeded and chopped finely

Method

  1. Drain and grind the rice and dal separately, using a little water, to a smooth paste. Mix them in a deep vessel.
  2. Cover and keep the batter to ferment for a minimum of six to eight hours in a warm place.
  3. Take required quantity of batter in a bowl, add salt and sufficient water to get the desired consistency and mix well.
  4. Heat a non-stick tawa. Put a ladle full of batter and spread thickly. Sprinkle onion and capsicum and sprinkle a little water all around.
  5. Cover and cook on medium heat till the underside is done. Flip it over and sprinkle a little water around.
  6. Cover and cook till the other side is done too. Serve hot with tomato chutney.
