Ingredients list for Quick Fish Biryani
- 400 grams Fish 1 1/2 inch pieces
- 2 cups Cooked Rice
- 3/4 cup Yogurt
- 1/4 Carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 2-3 Green chillies slit
- 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon Ginger paste
- 2 medium Onions sliced
- 1/4 cup Fried onions
- to taste Salt
- 15-20 Fresh mint leaves torn
- 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Oil
Method
- Fillet fish.cook rice. Place the fish in a non stick pan, add half cup yogurt, carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, half teaspoon garam masala powder, green chillies, garlic paste, ginger paste, sliced onions (crushed lightly with hands), fried onions, salt, half the fresh mint leaves, fresh coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix well.
- Spread the rice over the fish.
- Spread the remaining yogurt and sprinkle some salt.
- Sprinkle the remaining garam masala powder, remaining fresh mint leaves and drizzle oil.
- Cover and cook on high heat for five minutes.
- Reduce heat and cook for ten minutes.
