Ingredients for Singaporean Chilli Crab - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Medium crabs claws separated and cleaned 4

  • Fresh red chillies roughly chopped 6-8

  • Garlic cloves 10-12

  • Galangal roughly chopped 1 inches

  • Shallots 8-10

  • Lemon grass roughly chopped 1 stalks

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Tomato ketchup 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Shrimp paste 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Eggs beaten 2

  • Spring onion greens finely chopped for garnish

Method

Step 1

Blend together red chillies, garlic, galangal, shallots, lemongrass and lemon juice to a coarse mixture.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add prepared mixture and sauté for a minute. Add tomato ketchup and mix well.

Step 3

Add shrimp paste and mix. Add crabs and mix. Add salt and mix well.

Step 4

Add sufficient water, stir to mix, cover and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add eggs, mix well and cook till fully done.

Step 5

Garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
