Ever imagined what life would be without some meetha? The gulab jamuns, barfis, pedas, laddoos, modaks, halwas…you can say let the sugar substitutes rule but not everything is possible with substitutes! One of oldest flavourings and condiments used by mankind, this ingredient is an instant provider of energy. Also available in various types, sugar is either derived from sugarcane or beetroot.

Ingredients for Sugarcane Mojito - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Sugarcane juice 6 cups

  • Lemons halved 5

  • Fresh mint leaves as required

  • Salt 1 teaspoon + for rimming

  • Black salt (kala namak) 1 teaspoon + for rimming

  • Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon + for rimming

  • Lemon slices as required

Method

Step 1

Cut 2 lemon into eight pieces and add it to a large jar, add a few mint leaves, and muddle them together.

Step 2

Add salt, black salt, black pepper powder snd squeeze the juice of 2 lemons into it. Add sugarcane juice, and mix well.

Step 3

Take some black salt, black pepper powder and a little salt and mix well. Apply a little lemon juice on the rims of 4 serving glasses and press them over this mixture.

Step 4

Put some ice cubes in these rimmed glasses, a few lemon slices, a few mint leaves and strain the sugarcane mixture directly into the glasses.

Step 5

Mix well and serve chilled.
