In Japanese cuisine consists of food is cooked in a specific way based on the culture and tradition of Japan. The traditional cuisine of Japan comprises of rice with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. The side dishes often consist of fish, pickled vegetables and vegetables cooked in broth. Fish is common in the traditional cuisine. It is often grilled, but it may also be served raw or dipped in a light batter and deep-fried.
Japanese cuisine has now become popular throughout the world. As of 2011, Japan has overtaken France in number of Michelin starred restaurants and has maintained the title ever since.

Ingredients for Sushi Burger - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Sushi rice 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Vinegar 2 teaspoons

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 2 teaspoons

  • Oil for greasing

  • Nori sheet cut into 4 squares 1

  • English cucumber 2 medium

  • Avacado 1 medium

  • Lollorosso lettuce as required

  • Wasabi mayonaise for drizzling

  • Smoked salmon 12 pieces

  • Black and white sesame seeds for sprinkling

  • French fries to serve

Method

Step 1

Heat a deep non-stick pan, add sushi rice, 2 cups water and salt, mix well, cover and cook till the rice is completely cooked.

Step 2

Add vinegar and sugar, mix well, transfer onto a plate and let it cool down.

Step 3

Grease your palms with oil, take a portion of the rice and press it firmly into a ring mould to shape it like a patty. De-mold and set aside. Similarly make more rice patties.

Step 4

Thinly slice English cucumber and slice tomato. Halve avocado .

Step 5

For each portion serving, place a rice patty on a serving plate. Drizzle wasabi mayonnaise on it, tear lollo rosso lettuce leaves and place it on top of the mayonnaise.

Step 6

Slice and add a few pieces of avocado on top. Sprinkle salt and top with a little shredded purple cabbage. Place a few slices of cucumber and drizzle wasabi mayonnaise. Now place a few tomato slices and sprinkle salt.

Step 7

Place a nori sheet and place 3 smoked salmon pieces on top of it. Drizzle a little wasabi mayonnaise and cover with another rice patty. Sprinkle black and white sesame seeds on top and serve.
