Ingredients list for Tahiri-SK Khazana
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked and drained
- 5-6 Small potatoes halved
- 10-12 Cauliflower florets
- 3/4 cup Green peas
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 5-6 Cloves
- 6-8 Black peppercorns
- 2-3 Black cardamoms
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 Medium onions sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- to taste Salt
- for garnish Fresh coriander sprig
Method
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and let the seeds change colour.
- Add cloves, peppercorns, cardamoms, cinnamon, bay leaf and onions, mix and sauté till onions turn translucent.
- Add potatoes and cauliflower florets and mix well. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder and salt and mix.
- Add ½ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add rice and mix.
- Add green peas and mix well. Add 3 cups water, mix, cover and cook till fully done.
- Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
