Ingredients list for Tawa Pulao-SK Khazana

  • 3 cups Rice cooked
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 Medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli paste
  • 4 tablespoons Tomato puree
  • 2 Medium tomatoes finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Pav bhaji masala
  • 2 tablespoons Green peas boiled and crushed
  • 1 tablespoon Green capsicum finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped

Method

  1. Heat oil on a non-stick tawa. Add cumin seeds and sauté till the seeds change colour.
  2. Add green chillies, garlic, ginger and onions, mix and sauté well pressing lightly with a masher. Add red chilli paste and mix well with the masher.
  3. Add tomato puree and tomatoes and mix with the masher. Add salt, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add chilli powder and pav bhaji masala, mix and cook for a minute. Add green peas and capsicum, mash and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add rice and mix well. Add butter, mix and let it melt. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well.
  6. Serve hot.
