Ingredients list for Tindli Chatpati

  • 250 grams Tendli
  • 2 tablespoons Tamarind Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 2 tablespoons Tamarind paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 5 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Slice the tindli vertically and deep fry till lightly coloured. Drain the tindlis on absorbent paper.
  2. Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté till they begin to change colour.
  3. Add asafoetida and tamarind paste and mix.
  4. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt and sauté.
  5. Add 4 tbsps coriander leaves and ½ cup water and mix.
  6. Add the tindlis and mix and cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with remaining coriander leaves and serve hot.
