Ingredients list for Vratwale Aloo

  • 4-5 medium Potatoes peeled
  • 1 tablespoon Pure ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Green chilli paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup Raw peanuts
  • to taste Rock salt (sendha namak)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped

  1. Heat a pressure cooker. Cut the potatoes into small cubes. Pour the ghee in the cooker and add cumin seeds.
  2. Add potatoes and mix well. Add green chilli paste, red chilli powder, peanuts and mix well and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add 2 cups water, rock salt and lemon juice and mix. Cover the cooker and cook under pressure till 2-3 whistles are given out.
  4. Open the lid when the pressure reduces. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with kootoo ke aate ki puri.
