Adrak Ki Burfi

Antioxidants and other nutrients present in ginger are very beneficial to our health. Ginger is widely used the world over and especially in Asian cuisines. Here it is cooked with sugar to make a delicious burfi which will give you the necessary boost in winter.

Method

  1. Peel ginger and cut into small pieces. Transfer into a grinder jar, add ½ cup milk and grind to a fine paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add the ground ginger paste and mix well. Cook, stirring, for 5-6 minutes. 
  3. Add sugar, mix and cook till the sugar melts.  Add green cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and mix well. Continue to cook till the mixture thickens and reaches a soft ball consistency. 
  4. Transfer the mixture onto a greased and lined burfi tray and even out the top. Set aside to cool slightly. Cut into squares and allow to cool completely.
  5. Separate the squares and serve.
