Fugias Fugias are little leavened batter dumplings deep-fried to a golden goodness. These are popular among the East Indians and Goans are a definite part of their festive menu. Served with a spicy curry they make for a most amazing meal. By Sanjeev Kapoor 20 Aug 2024 in Recipes Breads New Update Fugias Main ingredients Refined flour, Whole wheat flour, Eggs, Melted ghee, Sugar, Salt, Coconut milk, Instant yeast, Oil Cuisine Goan Course Breads Prep time 4-6 hours Cook time 10-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of cooking Easy Others Non vegetarian Ingredients 1½ cups refined flour (maida) ½ cup whole wheat flour (atta) 2 eggs 1½ tablespoons melted ghee ¼ cup sugar Salt to taste 4 tablespoons coconut milk 1 teaspoon instant yeast Oil for deep frying Method Sift refined flour and whole wheat flour in a bowl. Break eggs in another bowl and whisk well. Add ghee, sugar, salt, coconut milk and instant yeast and mix well. Add this mixture to the flour mixture. Add ¾ cup water and mix well. Cover with the lid and set aside to ferment for 4-6 hours. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Drop small portions of the batter and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
